What a world we live in today

Most days I go for a walk, often through this attractive residential area nearby. Here are a few questions that occurred to me today…

• Question 1: You reverse into a bollard in the carpark and knock it down. Do you a) report it to the site office and claim responsibility OR b) do you park somewhere else and pretend it’s nothing to do with you OR c) you reported it but the management company haven’t done anything about it?
• Question 2: You notice a manhole is leaking sewage on the pavement. Do you a) report it to the water company / site office OR b) do you think it’s nothing to do with me, and ignore it and leave it to someone else OR c) you report it but the management company don’t do anything about it?
• Question 3: your older mate with the car gave you some of the good stuff and you’re buzzin’, but he dropped you off on the wrong road, so you’ve got to walk a couple of streets home! You notice the stupid car park signs they have ‘round here for private resident parking. Do you a) smile about these posh folks and their signage and then remember what a great night you’ve had OR b) do you kick one until it breaks off and throw it in the hedge
• Question 4: on your way out for a walk, you notice the tree near home, broken by the storm and lying dead in the attractive hedge at the end of your path. Do you a) pull it out of the hedge and take it home (so you or your Mum can drop it off at the tip) OR b) do you ignore it, because it’s up to the gardeners to get rid of stuff like that, and if they don’t, well who cares?
• Question 5: you notice the developer’s gardeners have planted some attractive dark red shrubs on the side of the drive. Do you a) admire them and think they really add something to your environment OR b) do you damage them, because your Dad told you off. And anyway why should other people be happy seeing these stupid plants?
• Question 6: you had a few beers watching the football at a mate’s house. He said, “let’s go back to yours and play that PS3 game?” You’re too embarrassed to tell him you haven’t got it because the parcel delivery company haven’t delivered it yet. Do you a) ‘fess up and have a laugh with him about it OR b) on the way back to yours, do you have a better time by getting him to help you, pull down another of those lighting bollards in the car park
• Question 7: your girlfriend’s just dumped you. You notice the developers’ gardeners have planted a young tree, near a house you walk past every day to school. Do you a) think as your ex won’t be walking home from school with you anymore it’s her loss, because she won’t get to enjoy this lovely tree flowering OR b) do you snap off a branch as you pass it, and drop it on the lawn to show you’re not bothered about a stupid girl nor a stupid flowering tree?
